The End of History in 60

Hello readers. I would first like to thank you all for the support I have received throughout this project. It is with great sadness that I write this message.

I want to give special thanks to those who reached out and expressed your appreciation; I could not have done this without you. I have chosen today, August 2nd, because it marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the document which sowed the beginning of a truly momentous project. Today will be the beginning of the end of a less momentous project, but one with equally high-minded ideals.

The timeline of the website's closure will be relatively protracted to ensure you all have a chance to use any helpful resources one last time. By the end of this calendar year, 2026, History in 60 will fully come to an end.

Over the past three years, I have seen this project grow into something truly meaningful, giving me an incredible opportunity to contribute to the community I love. What started as writing articles in my spare time became an obsession and an outlet to contribute to the writing of history. I remember coming home from school day after day to work on this.

Unfortunately, the time I once had no longer exists. This fall, I will be applying to college and have undertaken numerous other commitments which leave me unable to continue posting with any regularity. Because I can no longer contribute meaningfully, I will let my ownership of this domain lapse. As you have probably noticed, over the past several weeks I have slowly removed blog posts until only the first article I ever wrote remains: "Why 60?" Over the next several months, I will be doing the same for other key parts of the site. If you particularly appreciate any section, I encourage you to save it. Earlier this year, I added numerous unfinished elements of this site, most of which I began drafting early on in this project, for your reading pleasure. These however will also be progressively removed.

As we move on, I encourage each of you to use what you have learned here in your decisions and your life, because history is our best guide to the future.
